Workpiece material, machine, grinding method and target result are reviewed before the wheel route is finalized.
Custom wheel sourcing for hardened ferrous materials
Custom CBN Grinding Wheels
CBN grinding wheels are normally reviewed for hardened steel, HSS, bearing steel, tool steel and other ferrous hard materials. Selection depends on material grade and hardness, heat control, grinding method, bond, grit, wheel geometry, coolant and tolerance.

Suitable materials
Where this product family normally fits.
- Hardened and heat-treated steel
- High-speed steel cutting tools
- Bearing, mold and tool steel
- Alloy steel and ferrous precision components
Common applications
Applications normally reviewed for this product family.
- HSS tool grinding and sharpening
- Bearing and precision production grinding
- Gear, shaft and camshaft grinding
- Internal, surface and profile grinding
- Replacement of imported or discontinued CBN wheels
Selection framework
Bond or sourcing route follows the application—not a generic catalogue rule.
These rows are an RFQ discussion guide. Final suitability depends on the complete grinding condition and manufacturing feasibility.
Quotation checklist
Minimum useful information for an accurate first review.
You do not need every field. Send what is available; missing details can be confirmed during follow-up.
Use this checklist in my RFQ- Workpiece
- Steel grade and hardness in HRC if available
- Geometry
- Wheel shape plus OD × thickness × bore × rim
- Abrasive system
- Current bond, grit and concentration if known
- Machine
- Brand/model, speed, wet or dry and coolant
- Current issue
- Burning, loading, fast wear, poor finish or tolerance
- Commercial
- Quantity, delivery target and packing requirement
Pre-order controls
What is confirmed before quotation and production.
Critical dimensions, wheel shape, abrasive system, quantity and drawing revision are aligned in writing.
Required supplier documents, inspection points and records are agreed according to the quoted product and order.
Buyer questions
Clarify fit, specifications and RFQ inputs.
These visible answers summarize the main technical decisions without unsupported performance promises.
When should I use CBN instead of Diamond?
CBN is normally the starting point for hardened ferrous materials such as HSS, bearing steel and tool steel. Diamond is normally reviewed for carbide, ceramics, glass and other non-ferrous hard materials.
What information matters most for a CBN wheel quotation?
Material grade and hardness, wheel dimensions, grinding method, machine, bond and grit if known, wet or dry condition, quantity and the current heat, finish, wear or tolerance problem are useful starting details.
Can CBN help reduce grinding burn?
CBN may be suitable where heat control matters, but burning can also involve bond, grit, wheel speed, feed, coolant, dressing and machine condition. The complete process should be reviewed rather than changing abrasive alone.
Ready for a technical review?
Send the requirement you have.
Complete the details together.
A drawing is helpful, but a wheel label, photo, machine model or grinding problem can also start the review.
